Ingredients :
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup gumdrops, halved
Instructions :

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
- Cream together the first 5 ingredients.
- Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Fold in gumdrops.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or just until golden brown
